Spring Wardrobe Essentials

There are so many things that I love about Spring and the appearance of the Vancouver Cherry Blossoms, for me this year, it heralds the end of a nasty Fall/ Winter which everyone has grumbled about on their blogs for so long and I won’t go in to here today, but I will say that the Spring and the cherry blossoms have almost lifted a dark cloud that the Fall/ Winter weather had over me this year that I’ve never experienced before, I genuinely started to feel very low and miserable with the constant grey skies and rain this past Season. SO for me, these cherry blossoms bring something a little extra special with them this year.

I never used to wear all white/ cream, I always thought it would wash me out and it was also the fear of spilling anything down it like an errant coffee drip or splash of mud. It, in actual fact, isn’t as much of a dirt magnet as I once thought it would be and I’ve found myself reaching for it time and again of late. The neutrals and cream tones are soft and pretty, somehow they make me feel light after a lot of dark colours and tones that I wore throughout Winter.

A Cozy over-sized knit sweater like this one from Shop Morning Lavender (one of my favourite online clothing boutiques), it’s cozy enough for the cool Spring air and great over a pair of skinny-fit denim. It’s a versatile wardrobe staple, for me, that can take you easily from Day to night and be worn so many different ways to create so many different looks.

An amazing pair of Over-The-Knee boots! I had never owned a pair of OTK boots before I went in to the Nordstrom Sale last year! Now I own 3 pairs and I’m sure next year I’ll get another pair in a different colour! OTK boots are great because they can pair beautifully with flowy short dresses and also over skinny jeans and leggings for a chic, fun look, if the weather is cooler then it’s an added layer of warmth over your jeans. This pair that I’m wearing is from ASOS and is a crazy inexpensive price at $55.Β The pretty gold, low block heel is a lovely, fun detail too

A Great pair of crisp, white skinny jeans. I own so many jeggings and skinny-fit jeans now, in a wide array of colours, they make me feel comfortable and great when I’m wearing them and to tell you the truth, I once swore up and down, when I worked in The GAP and they first came out in 2006, that I would never wear a pair because I looked awful in them! I love them now and they’re the only jeans I wear! a great pair of white denim is chic and sophisticated and perfect for Spring and Summer because of how well you can pair other items with it. There are no colour boundaries, often, my favourite way to wear white jeans is with nautical stripes or colours (red & navy) it’s a classic, Preppy style but it works and it’s timeless. This great pair of skinny jeans is the RockStar from Old Navy.

Spring is the perfect time to break out the soft colours and lighten the colour pallets, what’s your favourite look for Spring?

xoxo Ellie

I share the fear of spillages on white clothing haha! I could never wear white jeans, too messy and worrying about grass and mud stains. Love this jumper, i’m a bit jumper crazy all year round. Love OTK boots but feel like i’m too short to wear them. Those are a gorgeous pair from ASOS though.

You wear light colours so well babe and I agree – whites and beiges always make you look and feel lighter than going with an all black look! If anything I think going with the neutrals tend to make you look more fresh!
