Pebble Beach, California

I heard so many people talk about Pebble Beach and 17 Mile Drive and so when My Husband and I visited San Francisco earlier this month I had things planned out to do and see, like Pebble Beach. Last year when we visited San Francisco on vacation we had never been before and we were pretty disorganized as it was actually the first full vacation that we had taken together where we had to book a hotel and weren’t staying with Family. This year I wanted to make sure that I had planned lots of places for us to see so that we weren’t just wandering aimlessly around San Francisco spending money on coffee’s and pastries (if you weren’t aware, SF is an expensive city!! in case you were thinking of vacationing there, you need a whole separate budget for meals/ food!) That said, I’d go back in a heartbeat because it’s such a beautiful city and we absolutely love it there!

Pebble Beach/ 17 Mile Drive is about 2 hours South of San Francisco nestled away on the Monterey Peninsula, it’s beautiful, honestly. These photos are a testament to the funny weather in the San Francisco/ California coastal areas though, it was bright sunshine and blue skies driving all the way down to Pebble Beach but as we drove further along in to the 17 Mile Drive area, the cloud came down over the water and, I have to say, I’m not mad as it was a little cooler and made for pretty photos with the crashing waves! But just remember to pack a light jacket.

While I was packing for San Francisco, I made sure to only pack dresses and skirts, sounds odd (I’m not including the jeans I traveled in) but I realized that I have so many beautiful items of clothing and yet, like many of us do, I always seem to reach for the same ones; out of habit or comfort. But I checked the weather frequently and when I saw that it was going to be sunshine all week in San Francisco I packed my dresses. forcing myself to wear my favourite things, I loved it! After an abysmal Fall/ Winter/ Spring here in The PNW, wearing dresses and skirts again in 22 Celsius heat and sunshine was A-MAZ-ING!

Something I would recommend doing when you’re planning to visit California and San Francisco is to look around and plan before you go. plans can always change on the fly but at least you have a few things listed down that you know you want to do or see. Such as Pebble Beach/ 17 Mile Drive, Half Moon Bay, San Jose, Mendocino (we didn’t make it here this time but will go next time), Point Reyes National Shoreline (the famous Cypress Tree Tunnel).

This is a dress that I picked up online earlier this year from my favourite online boutique Shop Morning Lavender, actually set up by a Fashion blogger and Wedding Photographer called Kim Le Pham and their clothes are my style to a tee! I have so many items from them now because I just know that I will always love the styles there and the fits are always perfect! This dress is a little more daring for me as it has a plunging neckline but the soft, loose fabric with the gorgeous floral print means that this dress will get a lot of wear of the hot Summer months here! Here are a few of my favourite Maxi dresses that they have in right now. Here, Here, Here

I cannot recommend visiting Pebble Beach/ 17 Mile Drive enough, whether it’s for an avid golfer (they have 3 golf courses) or a landscape photographer or just someone who loves being by the Ocean, this is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever visited.

xoxo Ellie

I absolutely love the pictures that you took at this beautiful beach. I have been planning to visit California, and struggled to figure out what part(s) I would want to visit. This definitely helps me.

I think that’s so funny you did that with the dresses! I did the same thing when we went to Punta Cana. I was always in jeans and a t-shirt but there I wore only dresses and loved it! Now that I am home that’s my go to when its nice enough.

That dress was seriously made for you – my favorite outfit that I’ve seen yet! I was just in San Francisco too, but we explored the area north of the city. Going to take a whole separate trip for the Monterey area, so I’ll remember this post!

Thanks. Though I’m completely flat so cleavage isn’t something you need to wear this dress 🙂
