Pumpkin Picking

So growing up in England, I never went to a Pumpkin Patch or a Pumpkin Farm before, in fact, the only time I really saw pumpkins was in the supermarket at Halloween for carving. You didn’t really see Pumpkin being used in food, not soup and most definitely not pie. So this year, if only once and to be able to say that I’d done it, I pulled out my comfy old boots and went to a Pumpkin Patch.

Thankfully the weather wasn’t so cold that I couldn’t break out my chunky-knit sweater dress and of course (because when do I ever go out without one) my Burgundy Fedora!

Admittedly I was feeling just a ‘lil bit extra today so I broke out my false lashes for a bit of a boost in the eyelash department (I usually hate those things! I have NO IDEA how YouTube make-up girls seem to just delicately place them on and they stick! Mine are a nightmare to get to stick) But still, I managed and with minimal sticking my eyelids together… it was a real “You Go Glen Coco” moment for me!

I feel like I’m fully in to Fall now that I’ve been to a pumpkin patch! What’s your favourite Fall Activity? Let me know in the comments below!

Happy Monday Everyone!
xoxo Ellie

This is so sweet! I’ve been in Texas for most of my life and I still haven’t been to a pumpkin patch. However, I will be going to one for my birthday this weekend! I’m very excited. Also, I may share my family’s pumpkin bread recipe on my blog this season. You can check it out and give it a try!

  3. October 16, 2017 / 8:57 am

You know I didn’t know pumpkin picking was a thing until recently – where have I been!? It’s certainly a very autumnal activity. My kids would probably love it so perhaps I’ll have to search of ra pumpkin patch. Your photos are fab and it’s always good to bring out the lashes!

  4. October 16, 2017 / 9:08 am

That’s really nice, love the Autumn outfit inspired colours and I also struggle with false lashes, never managed to put them on my own because of that!!

  5. October 16, 2017 / 10:25 am

Had heard of berry picking, cherry picking and apple picking. This takes picking to whole another level:) Fun I guess though!

  6. October 16, 2017 / 10:43 am

Ahh I love pumpkin picking!! You look so glamorous too, I don’t know how you always manage that! Love your scarf!

  7. October 16, 2017 / 10:49 am

I didn’t know burgundy and grey were in trend. I really love to combine those colors. You look gorgeous though!

  8. October 16, 2017 / 11:18 am

Your outfit is pretty! I haven’t been to a pumpkin patch in ages either. I really should go.

  9. October 16, 2017 / 11:36 am

I had no idea that you grew up in England?! Whereabouts? But you are right about the English I have never been pumpkin picking or even been to a pumpkin patch but I would like to as I love pumpkin. Also that knitted jumper that you are wearing is super cute girl x

I sure am, from about 3 hours outside of London in the countryside 🙂 I’m loving the cozy be sweater dresses at the moment although our weather is turning towards what we had last year so the snow boots may be coming out soon. Lol x

  10. October 16, 2017 / 1:29 pm

Ah love your very Autumny photographs. I wish we had pumpkin patches here but sadly in Ireland we don’t. I adore your sweater dress it is so versatile for this time of year when the weather is cooler but not yet really cold.

  11. October 16, 2017 / 2:29 pm

How fun that you got to experience this fun fall tradition! We have some good options for pumpkin patches where I live, our favorite one also makes homemade apple cider and apple cider donuts

You don’t have pumpkins in the UK?!?! They’re my favorite! Pumpkin pie is one of the only pies I actually like haha. Glad you made it out to a pumpkin patch. That dress is so cute!

  13. October 16, 2017 / 4:56 pm

It is still 100 degree here in So Cal, looking forward to sweater weather. Looking forward to moving somewhere with seasons.

We like roasting pumpkins and fall fishing. This year my Granddaughter is a little bigger so we can take her to pick some pumpkins too.

  15. October 16, 2017 / 7:51 pm

great pumpkin picking in the farms seems to have been a great experience. But i was astonished that you don’t have pumpkins there? Pumpkin foods are rather too famous even except Halloween. Anyways, its cool that you got to do something really special and it gave you a perfect feel of Fall:)

    • October 16, 2017 / 9:05 pm

We do have pumpkins in The UK but they aren’t a big deal in The Fall and we don’t have Pumpkin Pies or lots of pumpkin foods, that’s a very North American thing, in the UK they are usually just fed to the animals on farms. It was definitely fun to go to a pumpkin patch here though and now I can say I’ve done it once lol 🙂

You are so stylish just to pick some pumpkin! I love it 🙂
Baking some pumpkin pie is also awesome.

I know all about putting false eyelashes. Once I did put it perfectly for a wedding party and the perfect eyeliner but ofcourse I just had to go adding more and it got messy. We were already late so I decided to pull the lashes out and redo my makeup in the car just to realised I have forgotten my mascara! Well…I looked like a mess to the party plus I forgot my high heels at the hotel because I was wearing my runing shoes (I have a toddler)! But I had fun at the wedding thats what matters!

    Sorry for the long comment!😂

    • October 17, 2017 / 5:38 am

Oh no!! Literally the best comment ever there! I just tend to end up with terrible false eyelashes results usually I when I’m out and start laughing and the band pops off at one end and starts sticking up looking sooooo bad lol! The things we do for beauty 😅

  18. October 16, 2017 / 11:54 pm

I would love to experience Pumpkin picking some day. You looked lovely false eyelashes notwithstanding 😉

  19. October 17, 2017 / 2:25 am

I have never been Pumpkin picking and I so desperately want to go. It looks like so much fun. I’m going to have a look into local Pumpkin patches. I’m sure there’s got to be one by me somewhere.

I love the scarf! It’s perfect for autumn, holiday – you name it! and a great outfit for pumpkin picking, too!

  21. October 17, 2017 / 4:13 am

I love your style, I’d choose the exact same outfit for the occasion (however I miss the burgundy fedora from my wardrobe, I have a camel one instead). Is that knitted dress from Bershka? I really love the photos and the autumn mood they set.

Thanks so much Anna! Its actually from Boohoo but it’s cozy for sure. 🙂

Ah! Theres nothing like a good comfy jumper dress and boots on a beautiful autumnal day! Pumpkin picking sounds so much fun, I wish we had that option here in greece!

  24. October 17, 2017 / 9:12 am

You look perfect for a fall day at the pumpkin patch. This is an American tradition for us. Glad you enjoyed it.

  25. October 17, 2017 / 1:42 pm

Love the look!!! Fall is definitely my favorite when it comes to fashion!!! So many cute sweaters and jackets!

  30. October 18, 2017 / 10:31 am

You are looking great in your outfit out amongst the pumpkins. I had never been to a patch until just a couple years ago and now my daughter and I love going out into the patch to pick the pumpkins ourselves, cutting them off the vine. It’s a fun experience.

Heading to the pumpkin patch is one of our favorite things to do this time of year. We definitely like to pick out our own from the lot for carving.

  32. October 18, 2017 / 1:11 pm

Looks awesome, I love going pumpkin picking! Speaking of that, I need to see what options are out there for me to do some in Ontario! You make it look like a lot of fun, and that makes me excited to have some of my own fun!

  33. October 18, 2017 / 6:14 pm

Awww .. you look so beautiful (as always!) in your pretty sweater dress. I’m following your lead because this time of year I get to wear my favorite things: tights with boots. There’s truly nothing like a trip to the pumpkin patch. In fact, my husband and I went this past weekend. Of course, I bought two that were way too big and a gallon of apple cider that was by the check-out too. ‘Tis the season! x

  34. October 21, 2017 / 11:00 am

I love pumpkin patches and fall in general, so I understand the need to visit a pumpkin batch! You look beautiful and I love that your lip color matches your burgundy fedora!
