My Winter Skincare Routine: Laneige Review

Skincare should really have been higher on my list of Priorities a long time ago, like, when I was in my 20’s. As it is it was really only about 2 months ago that I started to really take my skincare seriously. Previously I had used a wide variety of products, whatever looked “cool” or seemed like it was the latest and greatest in skincare at Sephora, I’d use multiple brands on my face like a Lancome serum, a L’Oreal toner and cleanser, a First Aid Beauty Moisturiser and St Ives exfoliating face wash. Not really the best way to go about things as products whould work in conjuction with each other and to get the best results they need to be used over a long period of time, “just so long as you’re doing it every day, not just sporadically” Preach Cher, Preach! I can literally quote Clueless word for word… not sure if that’s a good thing… I had no life as a Teen lol!

So, anyway, back in October I started really looking around and looking at the different brands out there, one that I went round and round in my head was the Biotherm Life Plankton and AquaSource ranges and I nearly bought the full range but for a brand that I’d never tried before it was a lot to spend on the full range not knowing how my skin would react to the new products. I went with another one and bought the entire range, $200+ later I really stuck at it morning and night for about a month and a half with no visible results and I hated the scent of this particular range too. I stopped using it. After grumbling about it once, It was actually my elder Sister-In-Law who pointed me in the direction of Laneige as the newest K-Beauty product that everyone was raving about. And lets be honest, who doesn’t want skin that looks like the guys from BTS!!?? It’s FLAWLESS!! now My Sister in Law has been using similar products for years and she looks like she’s in her early 20’s. What I loved about Laneige was that Sephora had the full Water Bank Range as a 6 piece mini trial set for just $38 CAD! A Phenomenally good price and if it didn’t work for my skin then I’d not lost much money. I used it dilligently every morning an every night and (aside from LOVING the light fragrance of it) my skin started to look better, more plump and less red and blotchy each morning. I continued to use it day and night and then went and bought the full size face cream and Water Sleeping Mask, the full size serum was my Christmas Gift from my Husband 🙂

This may not be the infamous 10 step Korean Beauty Routine but it’s had pretty good results for me so far and I couldn’t be happier that I found this range (Thanks to my Sister in Law).

Step 1: Cleanser

Step 2: Toner

Step 3: Balancing Emulsion

Step 4: Serum/ Essence

Step 5: (Morning/ Night – face cream)

Step 5.5: (replaces the face cream on 3 nights of the week) Water Sleeping mask.

Step 6: Would normally be SPF but since most foundations have SPF 15/ 20 in them then that’s my step 6.

If you are looking for a really good and reasonably-priced skincare brand then I highly recommend Laneige Water Bank range. I’ve been through the pricey brands and honestly they didn’t do much but this is a range that I’ll be using from now on.

xoxo Ellie
