I don’t know about you but I’m getting bundled up every time I go outside these days against the cold and freezing fog! I always like to look put together even though I’m wrapped up in ever layer I own! This time last year, I could not wear anything this pretty when I was out in the elements though since Snow-pocalypse hit Vancouver but this year it’s a little easier to dress for the weather.
One thing that really can make a fabulous Winter outfit is a great pair of boots, I think I’ve only needed to pull out my massive black, fleece-lined Winter boots once this year whereas they were my closet staple last year so I could stay upright on the pavements! This year, however, I can get back to wearing my favourite boots – The over-the-knee taupe boots that I got a few months back and haven’t stopped wearing since! Seriously, they go with every outfit and the heel height is comfortable to wear all day.
Thermals aren’t just for the Ski Hills! I had never worn a thermal shirt under my top before this year and, honestly, it’s been a life-saver on those frigid days! I used to wear them every day when I’d go skiing but it never even occurred to me to wear one just as an everyday Winter layering basic. But The Heattech thermals are thin and don’t add any bulk to an outfit but they REALLY do keep you nice and toasty.
I’d be lost in Winter without my warm coats! I may not be one for quilted-jackets or the new teddy-bear coat trend but a good, solid coat from Old Navy or H&M can last you through a good few seasons and keep you nice and cozy when heading out. I like a coat in a fun colour like this one, just to break up my usual neutral outfits and brighten up those grey Vancouver days.
A Bobble hat!! Gone are the days when I thought these were just for kids and not adults, I like a good, soft, cozy hat because my ears get seriously cold during the Winter and it can hurt pretty badly. It doesn’t hurt if your hat is pretty too with pearl details and a super-soft pom-pom.
Happy Monday Everyone! Keep Warm out there!
